Assembly Line Scrapbooking

You've never scrapped like this before! Just bring a 12" trimmer and tape runner adhesive; if you can read a ruler you can do this. No kidding! You'll make six great looking tropical/beach-themed 12 x 12 pages in 60-90 minutes. Pam will show you how easy it is to add pictures -- afterwards!

Digital and Hybrid Scrapbooking Class

Wondering what all the hype is about Digital and Hybrid Scrapbooking? Learn tips and tricks to help speed up your album making projects. Bring 12-15 photos on a CD or flash drive. Class participants will create a few different digital goodies that can be printed at home or at your favorite photo center and a copy of our free digital software and templates.

Mini Stitch Bound Book

Learn simple book-covering techniques and kettle stitch to make a sweet 3" x 4" mini-book. Fill it with pictures, quotes, words of wisdom or doodles and give it as a gift or keep it in your purse! You'll want to make plenty of these as gifts once you learn the techniques.

Cricut Workshop
Instructor: Robin Andrews
Learn Tips and Tricks for the Cricut machine. This class is for beginners, however I am sure there is something for everyone! We will show cutting card stock, chipboard, vinyl and saving paper. Bring a couple of sheets of 12x12 paper and take home a title and embellishments for a favorite project.

A Year's Worth of Memories

Capture a year's worth of memories that can be shared with family and friends via digital scrapping. Create a 100% customizable 11 x 8.5 wire-bound 2011 calendar. This calendar is printed on premium paper that is of archival quality and will last a lifetime. Participants can come prepared with pictures on a thumb drive or you can just come and work on the design and embellishments of the calendar and then add pictures at a later time.

Participants will need to bring a flash drive with 3-12 pictures on it all relating to the same event/theme to practice and play creating their own layout. The class if free with the option to purchase the created layout at the end of the class or later at home.

Beadle Mania!


On Saturday, June 12, FiftyForward Knowles will host Beadle Mania, a morning of workshops to teach the skill of beading as embellishment in knitting and crochet as well as classes in basic beading techniques. Look through the posts for details and pictures of the classes that are being offered.

Beadle Mania Saturday, June 12

1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Beaded Blessings


Doors will be open to anyone who would like to participate in the Beaded Blessings Project, an afternoon aimed at engaging people of all ages and backgrounds to create packets that contain prayers, wishes, hopes or dreams. Each participant will be asked to create two sealed packets; one to keep or pass along to someone in need and another to be place in an exhibit in the FiftyForward Knowles lobby. FEE: FREE, all supplies are included and reservations are advised but not necessary. Send reservation requests to or call 615/743-3400.

11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Beaded Necklace


Lame yarn and bicone and faceted glass beads will be used to create this fabulous necklace. FEE: $15 which includes all supplies and instruction.

9:15 a.m.-10:45 a.m. Earrings

Learn the basics of beading and wire work in this workshop, at the end of which you will have the skills to make basic earrings and necklaces. FEE: $15, includes all supplies and instruction.

11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Knitted Beaded Christmas Ball


One project from the Leisure Arts book "12 Exquisite Beaded Ornaments to Knit" will be taught. FEE: $15, includes all supplies, including the Leisure Arts book (courtesy of Leisure Arts), and instruction.

9:15 a.m. - 10:45 a.m. Sock Beading


Learn the art of adding beads as trim to dress up socks. FEE: $15, includes all supplies and instruction.

Crazy Patch Project


This is a sample of what will be taught at the Crazy Patch Workshop on May 1. Your kit will include everything you need: fabric, thread, needles, DMC floss and trims. All you will need to bring is a thimble (if you use one) and your scissors!

DESCRIPTION: Create three easel cards. Attendees will learn how to create a card with a built-in easel. When you send someone a beautiful card, an easel makes it so easy for the recipient to display the stamped artwork. Workshop will cover basic stamping, punching, scoring and filling in color on line art stamps.
